Towards strengthening Bhutan’s Intellectual Property system, the Department of Media, Creative Industry and Intellectual Property hereby notifies all interested and eligible individuals seeking certification as Industrial Property (IP) Agents that the application window shall remain open
throughout the year. Certification, however, shall be conducted as and when the Department receives a minimum of 15 applications. It is to ensure that only qualified and credible professionals represent innovators, creators, and businesses, In accordance with Rule 60 of the Industrial Property Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2001, and subsequent Guideline on Certification of Industrial Property Agent, 2025, applicants must fulfill
the following eligibility criteria:

a. Must be a citizen of Bhutan
b. Valid security clearance certificate
c. Must fulfill one of the following:
● Hold a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in various science and engineering disciplines and law; or
● Possess a minimum relevant work experience of 5 years in the IP Office of Bhutan (DoMCIIP).
