The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment in a simple Tendrel Ceremony welcomed Mr. Sonam Tshering Dorji as the Director of the Department of Trade on 18 April 2024, coinciding with the Auspicious day of Zhabdrung Kuchoe. Prior to his current appointment, he was serving as the Chief Trade Officer of the Trade Negotiation Division. He began his career at the Policy and Planning Division, erstwhile Ministry of Economic Affairs and has worked in different capacities at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment and Ministry of Finance in the last two decades.
