We remind the employers of foreign workers in Bhutan to ensure the diligent implementation of the conditions outlined in the undertaking letter submitted to the Department of Labour (DoL) during the online foreign workers recruitment application process.
Employers are entrusted and have formally agreed to shoulder the responsibility (via the undertaking letter) to foster safe and conducive working conditions for foreign workers in accordance with the provisions outlined in the Labour and Employment Act and its associated regulations
Non-compliance to the relevant laws and regulations results in actions from our end, a situation that we believe many employers often try to challenge. Such instances lead to unnecessary confrontations between employers and the regulatory body. We emphasize that, in line with our mandate, we are obligated to and will enforce the provisions of the Act and Regulations without fear and favour, irrespective of the preferences or objections of a violator.
