This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Training of Trainers(ToT) on Entrepreneurship Development-New Business Creation(NBC)Course

The Training of Trainers (ToT) on entrepreneurship development (New Business Creation Course) concluded on 13th October 2023. The closing event was graced by the Hon’ble Dasho Thrompon of Gelephu and the Regional Director of the Regional Office of Industry, Commerce and Employment (ROICE).

With a total of 21 participants, including incubation managers, lecturers from colleges, officers from MoICE and ROICE, as well as lecturers and instructors from TTIs/IZCs, and a planning officer from Zhemgang Dzongkhag, the program had a diverse representation from various sectors

The training employed the Competency-based Economies through the Formation of Enterprises (CEFE) methodology, an entrepreneurship-training concept primarily focused on promoting small and medium-scale enterprises. The CEFE methodology, developed and promoted by the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), utilizes a range of training instruments and experiential learning methods to improve business management and personal competencies, ultimately contributing to income generation, employment opportunities, and overall economic development.

 

Throughout the training period, the participants were exposed to several crucial modules, including unlocking Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies (PECs), matching individuals with suitable projects, business model generation, design thinking and rapid prototyping, business plan preparation, business plan evaluation, and idea viability testing through a pitching session. Additionally, there was a specific focus on training competency development to ensure that the participants were well-equipped to impart their knowledge effectively in their respective roles.

 

Furthermore, to provide a practical understanding of the Bhutanese entrepreneurship ecosystem, the participants were taken on a day-long field visit to various business setups and enterprises on 1st October 2023.

 

The training trainer’s program was facilitated  and funded by the Entrepreneurship Promotion Division, Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship (DoEE) Jigme Wangchuk Power Training Institute (JWPTI) from 27th September to 13th October 2023. The program was specifically designed to enhance the professionalism, competency, and skills of various individuals and organizations involved in supporting and nurturing entrepreneurship within the Bhutanese ecosystem.
