This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Bhutan Seal & Grown in Bhutan (GIB) Award Ceremony, 2023

The Bhutan Seal Award 2023 and Grown in Bhutan (GIB) Award Ceremony under the Brand Bhutan initiative was held by the Department of Trade on 16th August 2023, at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment (MoICE), Thimphu.

BHUTAN SEAL AWARD 2023

A total of 14 applicants submitted 34 handicraft products, ranging from textiles (rugs, shawls, throws, bags, cushion covers, etc.), paintings (both traditional and contemporary), vases, accessories, and Incense sticks for the Bhutan Seal Award 2023. Out of this, 28 products qualified for the Bhutan Seal of Quality, and one product for the Bhutan Seal of Excellence. The Bhutan Seal Award winners were Green Crafts, Colours of Bhutan, Deki Natural Dyes, Green Pigment Arts, Mineral Pigment Painting, Tarayana Rural Crafts, Yarna and Yathra House, Ms.Pema C. Wangchuk, Ms. Damcho Dema, Ms.Samten Pemo, Ms.Tshering Choden, Nado Poizokhang, and Deleg Incense.

GROWN IN BHUTAN (GIB) & MADE IN BHUTAN (MIB) MARK

From a total of 9 products applied for the Grown in Bhutan mark, 4 products (3 Varieties of herbal tea from Bhutan Herbal Tea and ginger powder from Bhutan Naturals) qualified for the GIB mark.

The GIB/MIB mark event will be conducted periodically to encourage Bhutanese producers to produce premium products for the high-end markets and to facilitate them to enter new markets through standard-setting, advertising, and marketing of GIB and MIB products.
