Apply Foreign Worker

This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Following the successful implementation of Bhutan Trade FinNet (BTFN) System Phase-I from December 2022, the Department of Trade in collaboration with Royal Monetary Authority, Department of Industry and Department of Revenue and customs  launched BTFN system Phase-II on 3rd April 2023. The launch ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble Lyonpo Karma Dorji, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment and Dasho Penjore, Governor, Royal Monetary Authority.

The following services under BTFN Phase-II will be piloted from 3rd April – 30th June 2023 to     ensure smooth transition and system stability. During the pilot phase, all traders and entities are encouraged to avail online services and provide feedback for the improvement of the system.

Kindly note that with effect from 1st July 2023, only online application through BTFN system will be accepted for all categories of services. The BTFN system can be accessed using: https://www.btfn.bt/BTFN/login/loginbtfn.jsp#
