This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Basic Entrepreneurship Course for the Graduates of Bakery & Confectionary, Automobile Electrician NC2, Digital Marketing & Earth Moving Equipment Mechanic Courses under the SDP

The Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship (DoEE), Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment (MoICE) conducted the Basic Entrepreneurship Course (BEC) for the Skills Development Plan (SDP) Graduates under Bakery and Confectionary, Automobile Electrician, Digital Marketing and Earth Moving Equipment Mechanics skills training at the Technical Training Institution, Samthang, Wangduephodrang Dzongkhag. The Skills Development Plan is implemented by the Department of Workforce Planning and Skills Development (DoWPSD), Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD).

The BEC training is aimed at helping the trainees to translate their innovative ideas and skills into viable businesses thereby fostering self-employment and entrepreneurship as a preferred career option.

A total of 86 participants were trained on business and entrepreneurship concepts and techniques. The course covered the fundamentals of making a business management plan including marketing, production, organization and management, finance and accounts. Other relevant topics such as licensing procedures, risk management, and financial literacy were also covered. The training concluded with the pitching of business ideas by the participants to bankers and relevant stakeholders, to test the viability, feasibility and desirability of their business proposals.

The two weeks BEC training officially ended on 20th March and was combined with the annual graduation ceremony of regular and SDP trainees. The training completion certificates were presented by the Director General, Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment.
