A month-long training for Hair and Beauty and a 2 month-long Basic Tailoring as a part of Special Skills Development Program (SSDP) were successfully concluded today. A total of 60 housewives and Drayang laid-offs (20 in Hair and Beauty and 40 for Tailoring) residing in Phuentsholing have undergone the training program.
The training program was designed specifically for those who were affected by COVID-19 Pandemic, laid-off employees and those who were working in drayangs with an objective to impart skills & knowledge in the area of their interest so that they become competent in start-up of entrepreneurship and also build-up their employability skills in taking up the emerging jobs in the labour market.
In addition, the tailoring program is also aimed to meet the market demand of tailoring services to the residents of Phuentsholing Thromde and adjoining areas.
The training program was coordinated by the Department of Technical Education (DTE) and Regional Office, Phuentsholing, MoLHR in collaboration with Computer Management Institute and Druk Institute of Management and Technology. The closing ceremony and certificates were awarded by the Hon’ble Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Human Resources.
