This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Masonry: After completing this 2-month training, candidates will able to learn:

  • Performing basic reinforcement work
  • Performing laying bricks, blocks and stones
  • Performing concrete work
  • Performing plastering work
  • Performing tiles and mosaic flooring works
  • Work according to personal health, safety and environment protocol at construction site: Importance of Health & Safety aspects & measures to be followed while working.
  • Preparing for entry-level jobs in masonry construction

Construction Carpentry (Up-Skilling): Candidates will learn the following through this course:

  • Solve on-site trade-related building and renovation problems by applying principles of basic technical mathematics and building science.
  • Select, maintain and safely operate hand tools, and portable and stationary power tools, to efficiently complete building construction and renovation tasks.
  • Assist with the completion of building and renovation stages, from site layout and footing to the application of interior and exterior finishes, according to specifications.
  • Apply basic surveying techniques for construction layout and control
  • Analyze construction documents for planning and management of construction processes.
  • Analyze methods, materials, and equipment used to construct projects.
  • Build character and gain confidence to seek employment within the skilled trades

In addition, after the completion of the course, all individuals are required to attend 2 weeks of Basic Entrepreneurship Course (BEC)
