This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Virtual TVET with 3D Gaming Technology in Automotive Technology

Online In-Country Program on Training of Trainer in “Automotive Technology Using Virtual TVET” was conducted from 14-17February 2022. The virtual training was organized by Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC), Philippines; Ministry of Labour and Human Resources (MoLHR), Bhutan; and LABTECH International Ltd., Malaysia.

H.E Lyonpo Karma Dorji of the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources graced the closing and certification ceremony of the program virtually. A total of 20 Automobile Trainers from three Automobile Training Institutes: TTI-Thimphu, TTI-Samthang, and TTI-Ranjung took part in the ToT program. The training was facilitated by professionals from LABTECH International and CPSC. During the training, the automobile trainers were provided with hands-on practical experience to use the TVET Learning Management System developed by LABTECH Academy. They learned to use Online Virtual TVET Digital content, which is developed using 3D Gaming Technology for Interactive Learning Experience in delivering the practical sessions.

Program Focus: The topics covered by the Virtual TVET for Automobiles are designed to cover introduction to automotive systems such as basic engine fundamentals, electricity, and electronics, braking systems, wheels and drive systems, steering and suspension systems. It also goes on to develop the students’ knowledge and skills leading to more advanced studies such as petrol and diesel fuel, systems, engine management, transmissions, and hybrid vehicles.

With six months of access to the automotive digital learning contents of the CPSC Labtech Academy online portal, the trainers developed an action plan to adopt a blended learning approach and flip classrooms by adopting CPSC Labtech Academy Learning Management System and digital content. The participants were awarded certificates of completion certified by Worlddidac. Hon’ble Secretary of MoLHR graced the opening ceremony of the program. The program was coordinated by TVET Professional Services Division, Department of Technical Education, MoLHR.
