Launching of project initiation for the Establishment of Model Technical Training Centres in Bhutan in collaboration with Government of Singapore conducted virtually
After signing of MoU virtually in June, 2021 between Government of Singapore and Bhutan. The Government of Singapore committed to support technical assistance for the establishment of two Model Technical Training Centers (MTTC) at TTI-Thimphu and TTI-Khuruthang.
The official launching of project initiation was conducted on 26th January, 2022 virtually. Hon’ble Secretary Dasho Tashi Wangmo of MoLHR-Bhutan, Hon’ble Director General Gilbert Oh of South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa Directorate, Ministry of Foreign Affairs-Singapore, Mrs. Alice Cheng, Deputy High Commissioner, High Commission of the Republic of Singapore in New Delhi, Mr. Bruce Poh, Chief Executive Officer of ITE-Education Services graced the launching ceremony. The delegates from MFA-Singapore, MFA-Bhutan, project team from MoLHR and ITE-ES joined the launching ceremony.
The ITE-Education Services (ITE-ES) of Singapore will provide technical assistance to MoLHR in developing MTTC and introduce Diploma in Facility Technology at TTI-Kurutahng and Diploma in Automobile Technology in TTI-Thimphu as part of the project. The implementation of project activity will commence immediately through hybrid model, with the use of virtual platform, in the event of pandemic situation. The entire project period is for five year and targeting to officially launch two MTTC with Diploma course by the end of 2023.
