The Corporate Regulatory Authority (CRA) successfully conducted the Company Secretary Training & Certification Programme for the second cohort from 14–18 September 2026 in Paro, bringing together 25 in-house Company Secretaries from companies across Bhutan.
The five-day programme covered key areas including company law, corporate governance, company incorporation and registration, Board and General Meeting procedures, corporate resolutions, statutory compliance, and Bhutan’s capital market framework. The programme concluded with a comprehensive assessment of all participants.
Expert resource persons from the Department of Industry, Royal Securities Exchange of Bhutan (RSEB), and Menuka & Associates shared practical insights on FDI, licensing, capital markets, and corporate and financial matters, enriching the participants’ learning and professional understanding.
“The Company Secretary is one of the most important but often overlooked pillars of good corporate governance. A well-trained Company Secretary ensures that a company operates within the law, that its boards function effectively, and that its compliance obligations are met consistently. This programme is our investment in that foundation” – CRA Motto
Participants expressed their commitment to upholding high standards of corporate governance and providing effective secretarial support to companies in meeting their legal and regulatory obligations.
The programme marks a significant milestone in the development of Bhutan’s corporate professional services industry, laying the foundation for a qualified pool of corporate professionals who can strengthen governance, regulatory compliance, investor confidence, and sustainable business growth. The initiative forms part of CRA’s continued efforts to build a stronger and more resilient corporate sector, contributing to the broader national aspirations under His Majesty The King’s Diamond Strategy for Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) and the 10X Vision.
