The Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship, under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment, is inviting applications for equipment support through the ECRUL Project. Under a cost-sharing model, the Government covers up to a maximum of Nu. 2 million of the tendered equipment cost.
Who can apply
Registered startups and enterprises, founders of early-stage NbS ventures, and recognized community, youth, women, and PWD groups and cooperatives. You must operate, or plan to operate, in urban or peri-urban areas, and hold at least a working prototype, pilot, or minimum viable product ready to put the equipment to use within six months.
Areas of support
The areas below are supported, though support is not limited to these:
- Green infrastructure, such as urban forestry tools, green roofs, living walls, and permeable paving
- Water management, such as rainwater harvesting, constructed wetlands, and drainage systems
- Ecosystem restoration, such as native-species nurseries, soil remediation, and erosion control
- Renewable energy and resource recovery, such as solar irrigation and lighting, biogas from organic waste, and energy-efficient processing
- Sustainable materials and circular economy, such as bamboo and timber processing and waste-to-material technologies
- Climate monitoring, such as water and geotechnical sensors and IoT irrigation systems
- Community engagement and education, such as mobile demonstration units and training equipment
Together these span food and farming, clean water, energy, recycling, construction, restoration, and community services, so a wide field of entrepreneurs can find their fit.
