Press Release: Independent Director Training Programme

The Corporate Regulatory Authority (CRA) successfully conducted a one-day Independent Directors Training Programme on 4 June 2026 at Metta Resort, Paro, with the participation of four Independent Directors from the corporate sector.

The programme focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of corporate governance principles, board effectiveness, fiduciary duties, regulatory compliance, and corporate social responsibility (CSR). It aimed to enhance the capacity of Independent Directors to provide objective oversight, promote transparency and accountability, safeguard stakeholder interests, and contribute to sound decision-making within companies.

Participants gained insights into their roles and responsibilities in fostering ethical business conduct, ensuring good corporate governance practices, and supporting the long-term sustainability and success of their organizations.

The Corporate Regulatory Authority remains committed to promoting strong corporate governance frameworks and building the capacity of directors to support responsible and sustainable business practices in Bhutan.
