The Corporate Regulatory Authority (CRA) successfully conducted the Corporate Filing Agent (CFA) Training Programme for Cohort 2 from 26 to 28 May 2026 at the Start-up Centre, Thimphu. The programme was attended by 16 professionals with backgrounds in business studies and law.
The programme covered Company Law, Corporate Structures, the Code of Conduct, Corporate Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility, Foreign Direct Investment policies and licensing procedures, company incorporation, change transactions, the Corporate Registry System, meeting requirements, annual return filings, and Bhutan’s financial system and capital market instruments, regulations, and their legal implications. The training was complemented by practical exercises and a formal assessment to certify participants as Certified Filing Agents under CRA supervision. Sessions were facilitated by officials from CRA and resource persons from the Department of Industry and the Royal Securities Exchange of Bhutan (RSEB).

Corporate Filing Agents are licensed professionals authorized to process company incorporations and prescribed corporate filings on behalf of businesses. They play a vital role in ensuring that submissions to the CRA are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
Upon completion of the programme, participants expressed their commitment to upholding professional standards and providing reliable filing and compliance services to support the growth and governance of Bhutan’s corporate sector.

For the first time in the Country’s history, this initiative has laid the foundation for the establishment of a Corporate Professional Services Industry, creating a new ecosystem of qualified corporate professionals dedicated to strengthening corporate governance, regulatory compliance, investor confidence, and sustainable business growth.
