17 April 2026: The Ministry is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Ugyen Dorji as the Chief Labour Officer of the Labour Protection Division under the Department of Labour (DoL).

He was selected through an open, competitive process conducted by the Ministry. Prior to this appointment, he served as Deputy Chief Labour Officer in the Department of Labour.

In his new role, Mr. Ugyen Dorji will play a critical part in strengthening labour protection systems and advancing a responsive and modern labour administration in line with national priorities.

The Ministry extends its heartfelt Tashi Delek and best wishes to Mr. Ugyen Dorji for continued success and a fulfilling career in public service.
