The Department of Labour, under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Employment, is pleased to announce a comprehensive nationwide assessment of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) practices. This initiative, in collaboration with our Regional Offices, will focus on enterprises with established OHS committees and will commence on March 3, 2025.
The primary goal of this OHS assessment is to foster a culture of safety and well-being within workplaces by evaluating the effectiveness and compliance of OHS committees across the nation.
This initiative aims to enhance workplace safety awareness by promoting proactive safety measures and initiatives, encouraging compliance with established safety standards and legal requirements, and recognizing best practices by acknowledging enterprises that demonstrate outstanding commitment to maintaining safe and healthy work environments. Through these efforts, the Department of Labour seeks to build a culture of safety, reduce work-related accident and diseases, and contribute to a resilient and productive workforce nationwide.
As part of this assessment, enterprises showcasing exemplary OHS practices will be awarded a Certificate of Recognition on World Safety Day. This certification will not only highlight the organization’s dedication to workplace safety but also serve as a benchmark for industry excellence.
We kindly request all enterprises to extend their full cooperation during the assessment process. Your active participation is critical to the success of this initiative and the safety and well-being of all workers.
