The Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship, under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Employment and BITC-Thimphu Techpark Ltd is organizing the ๐ธ๐ฅ๐๐๐ข๐ก๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ธ๐๐ก๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ โ๐๐ ๐ต๐๐๐ก๐๐๐๐, an initiative designed to cultivate entrepreneurial leadership and strengthen Bhutanโs startup ecosystem, aimed at igniting the entrepreneurial spirit and fostering leadership participation in nurturing Bhutanโs entrepreneurship.
This initiative aligns with His Majestyโs Royal Vision of establishing an Enlightened Entrepreneurial Bureaucracy and represents a significant step in the Ministryโs ongoing efforts to promote and support entrepreneurship. Recognizing the crucial role of leaders in shaping a dynamic entrepreneurial landscape, the Bootcamp seeks to equip executives with the knowledge and tools needed to drive innovation and enterprise growth in Bhutan.
The three-day Bootcamp, ย ๐น๐๐๐๐ข๐๐๐ฆ 24โ26, 2025, ๐๐กย ๐โ๐๐๐โ๐ข, is designed to provide participants with:
- A solid understanding of entrepreneurship fundamentals.
- Insights into the key components required to create a dynamic entrepreneurial environment.
- An appreciation and exploration of a leaderโs role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Bhutan.
The program brought together 16 ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ก๐ from diverse backgrounds, providing them with an opportunity to engage in interactive sessions, discussions, and hands-on learning experiences. By the end of the Bootcamp, participants will have gained practical insights into how they can contribute to the growth of Bhutanโs entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The opening session was graced by the His Excellency,ย the Minister of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Employment, who emphasized Bhutanโs ambitious goals, including a tenfold increase in GDP, positioning the country as a leader in sustainability, tourism, agriculture, and digital innovation, and building a knowledge-driven economy. His Excellency highlighted the crucial role of leaders in shaping Bhutan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and achieving the objectives outlined in the 21st Century Economic Roadmap. The bootcamp, he noted, is not just an opportunity for learning but a call to action for executives to collaborate, innovate, and lead change. While Bhutan has made progress, challenges such as limited public awareness and gaps in innovation skills remain. The Minister also referenced His Majestyโs “Diamond Strategy” and the launch of the Strategic Roadmap 2025-2035, which aims to transform the Civil Service into an Enlightened Entrepreneurial Bureaucracy to support Bhutanโs economic vision.
This initiative represents a pivotal effort in shaping the future of entrepreneurship in Bhutan, reinforcing the commitment to fostering an environment that supports business innovation and sustainable economic growth.
