Press Release: Sensitization Program for the Private Sector on Overall Trade systems, Rules and Procedures

The Department of Trade, in collaboration with the Royal Monetary Authority, the Department of Revenue and Customs, the Bhutan Exporters Association and Yangkhor Private Limited, successfully conducted a one-day sensitization program across five Dzongkhags; Mongar, Samdrup Jongkhar, Gelephu, Chhukha (Phuentsholing), and Samtse from November 4–16, 2024. A total of 374 participants, comprising 219 males and 155 females, attended the program, with Phuentsholing recording the highest turnout of 141 participants.

 

 

 

The program brought together exporters, importers, traders, and industry representatives to enhance their awareness of the new features in the Bhutan TradeFin Net (BTFN) system as well as processes, procedures, and regulations related to export and import. The sensitization program also included topics such as Payment Methods, Business Guest Visa processes, E-Commerce regulations, Brand Bhutan initiatives, the Bhutan Trade Information Portal, as well as Bilateral and Regional Trade Agreement.
