This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Notification on Implementation of SOP for Sharing of Public Information with the Media

In pursuant to the Executive Order of the Ministry dated April 28, 2023, and vide Letter No. MoICE/EOM/2022-2023/1006, whereby the Ministry issued the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Sharing of Public Information with the Media, the Ministry hereby notifies the following:

  1. The 14th HRC Meeting of MoICE held on May 11, 2023  nominated Ms. Kezang Deki, Planning Officer  as Media Focal for MoICE  and Head of the Departments as the Spokesperson
  2. The SOP is prepared to streamline the information sharing process with the media 
  3. All RGoB agencies must appoint a media focal through respective Human Resource Committee (HRC)
  4. All RGoB agencies must identify Spokesperson(s) which the HRC shall assign this responsibility
  5. The details of the Media Focal must be published as per the SOP on respective agency websites 
  6. MoICE will sensitise Media Focals on the SOP once the agencies confirm their respective media focals
  7. The SOP comes into effect from the date the Executive Order was issued
  8. The SOP can be downloaded from here. 

Therefore, all the agencies are hereby requested to comply with the Notification and the Executive Order for implementation of the SOP.
