Following the stakeholder meeting with the hardware traders (both Wholesalers & Retailers) on 4th November, 2022, the Department is pleased to rollout product based distribution system for 3 products (Electrical Wires, Electrical Cables and Pipes) in the remaining 17 Dzongkhag with effect from 1st January 2023. The initiative is aimed to further streamline and strengthen the existing distribution system in ensuring availability of quality products at fair and competitive price in the market.
As notified by the Ministry on 6th May 2022, the above products shall be imported only by the licensed wholesalers appointed by the Principal Companies. Retailers and other importers are kindly requested to source the above products from the licensed/authorized wholesalers dealing in these products.
