This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Basic Entrepreneurship Course, Aspiring Entrepreneurs Norbugang; Samtse

The Basic Entrepreneurship Course (BEC) on New Business Creation (NBC) for Aspiring Entrepreneurs at Norbugang ; Samtse  has been organized by the Entrepreneurship Promotion Division (EPD) under the Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship (DoEE), Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment (MoICE) in collaboration with the Samtse Dzongkhag.

The program was conducted from 17th to 31th January, 2023 to train and equip those interested in taking up business in different fields and support putting their ideas into action.

Opening Ceremony graced by Chairman of Gewog & Administration of Norbugang Gewog and existing entrepreneurs, trainer and participants.

The course covered the four fundamentals of business management such as marketing, production, organization & management, financial literacy and networking among relevant organizations for support to startup businesses. With the efforts of the Trainers who customized the course according to the needs of the target group, the participants were able to come up with their own business ideas. Participants were also taught the finer aspects of entrepreneurial soft skills and business plan preparation. The training course culminated in the preparation, and presentation of business ideas by the participants to potential investors, based on their individual business ideas to test the viability and get first-hand feedback from funding agencies.

Twelve business proposals were pitched, with a majority of the ideas related to production and 2 related to the services sector. There were a total of 19 participants consisting of 10 males and 9 females with educational qualifications ranging from class seven to class twelve graduates.

The Chief Guest talked about the importance of self-employment and the need to take initiatives toward improving the economic growth of the country. He mentioned the gewog administration is really looking toward helping entrepreneurs in the agriculture sector.

Closing of the BEC conducted at Norbugang Gewog: Samtse

The closing ceremony was graced by the Commanding Officer of Norbugang RBP, Representatives from the MoICE, the Chairman of Gewog administration, participants and the two Facilitators.

The participants were well informed on the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem of the country including the various programs of the MoICE and other relevant agencies and post-skilling initiatives such as up-skilling and re-skilling, engagement programs and the placement and referral services that were provided.

The closing ceremony concluded with the awarding of certificates to the participants and cash prizes of Nu. 50,000 each to the 4 best business ideas. The top four business ideas were:

  4. Derams Yean
