This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Joint Press Release: Onboarding Session-Youth Co: Lab Springboard PLUS+ Programme 2023

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Employment (MoICE) in collaboration with the UNDP Bhutan, Youth Co: Lab, Loden Foundation, Citi Foundation, and Accelerating Asia has successfully conducted Onboarding Session for the Spring Board Plus Startup Acceleration programme for the 2023 cohort. A total of 33 startups were selected from the pool of applicants based on the prescribed criteria. The onboarding session was conducted in hybrid mode. The session was attended by 29 startup candidates, 2 alumni from the 2022 cohort, and officials from MoICE, UNDP Bhutan, and Loden Foundation. 21 participants attended the session in person while 9 startups participated online via the zoom platform. 

Further, an online onboarding session will be held on 2nd February 2023 by Youth Co: Lab team based in Bangkok from all the participants selected for the Spring Board Plus Startup Acceleration program for the 2023 cohort from Asia Pacific Region to orient on the overall “Online Learning Modules” and the requirements.

The onboarding session is aimed to share information about Springboard Plus /Start-up Acceleration program 2023 and manage expectations and provide networking opportunities vertically and horizontally. The Startup Acceleration program/ Spring Board Plus Program will be continued for the next 5-6 months. In the following months, the 33 selected startup candidates will be given Springboard Plus online sessions (February-May), Peer-Peer learning (February- June), critical skill training (March-May), and mentoring program (April- July)  with a Demo day at the end of 5-6 months.

A youth selected from the 6 months program will get an opportunity to attend the regional Youth Co: Lab Summit in June or July 2023. 

The Springboard Plus programme is led by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Employment (MoICE), the Royal Government of Bhutan and UNDP Bhutan in partnership  with Youth Co: Lab, Loden Foundation, Citi Foundation, and Accelerating Asia. It provides young entrepreneurs with the opportunity to connect with other like-minded young entrepreneurs from the region and tap into the regional resources for mentorship and funding opportunities.
