This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Announcement for Assessor Training

The Department of Occupational Standards will be organizing Assessor Training in the following Occupations from 16th-21st January 2023 in Thimphu. During the training NO DSA shall be provided by the Department. Working lunch and refreshment will be provided.

  1. Zorig Chusum (Lhadri, Patra, Jimzo, Trezo, Shazo)
  2. Automobile (Mechanic, Auto Electrician)
  3. Mechanical (Fitter, Welder)
  4. Construction (Mason, Plumber, Carpenter)
  5. Furniture Making
  6. Power (Solar technician, power cable technician, T&D)
  7. Electrical Engineerin
  8. HVAC/RAC Technician

 Eleigibility criteria

  1. Minimum of Diploma/Professional Qualification with THREE years work experience or
  2. NC3 with FIVE years contininous work experience in above-mentioned occupation
  3. Minimum of FIVE years work experience/ND with THREE year work experience for Zorig Chusum trades

Assessment and Certification:

  1. Participants will be assessed at the end of the training to be eligible for Competency Certification and Registration as Level C Assessor.
