This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Announcement of Upskilling Program in Nature Guide-Birding

As a part of the Skills Development Program, the Ministry of Labor and Human Resources is pleased to announce the availability of the Upskilling Program in Nature Guide-Birding from 15 December 2022 for 35 days in collaboration with Department of Tourism and Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment Research, Bumthang funded by MoLHR as detailed below:

Only interested tour guides with valid guide license and have attended Basic Nature Guide (IC/NC) can apply using the link given above.

The program is designed to provide the knowledge, skills and attitudes of an individual to become competent bird guide in accordance with tourism and forestry standards. Upon successful completion of this course, the graduates will be able to work in government, corporate and private organizations where they can perform services like carrying out nature tour planning, nature guiding, and post nature tour activities.

In addition, after the completion of the course, all individuals are required to attend Basic Entrepreneurship Course which will be conducted for 2 weeks.

The applicants shall be notified within 2 working days from the last date of application via phone/email. The selection shall be based on FIRST-COME-FIRST basis and upon fulfilling the criteria specified above.

Accommodation and stipend of Nu. 3500 per month will be provided for the entire duration of the course.
