This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Basic entrepreneurship Course provided to the Third Batch of ECCD Trainees

The Entrepreneurship Promotion Division under the Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship conducted the Basic Entrepreneurship Course (BEC) on New Business Creation (NBC) for the graduates of the third batch of ECCD training. The training was provided under the skill Development Program (SDP) at Paro College of Education.  The 15 days program which was conducted from 1-16 November, 2022 focused on building a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country. 

The 49 participants were 8 males and 41 females, and they were all active job seekers. The two weeks long course aimed to impart participants with the knowledge of business management, financial literacy, marketing strategies, business plan development and networking among the relevant organizations for support to start a business. The participants were able to come up with their own business ideas amounting to a total of 14 interesting business proposals with the majority of the ideas related to production and services. 

The closing ceremony of the program was graced by the Director General of Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship, Aum Kunzang Lhamu and the President and Deans of Paro College of Education. The Director General shared her concern over the rising youth unemployment in the country and how  SDP programs and entrepreneurship plays a vital role. She also shared about the upcoming 7th Gowa and new SDP trainings, and urged them to take advantage of such opportunities.
