This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Announcement of Training in Traditional Weaving in Hor

The Ministry of Labour and Human Resources is pleased to announce the availability of the training in Traditional Weaving in Hor from 14 November 2022 at Thimphu/Wangduephodrang in collaboration with Royal Textile Academy, Thimphu funded by MoLHR under the Skills Development Program as detailed below:

Only interested jobseekers/youths, oversea returnees and laid-off employees can apply using the link given above.

The course shall provide knowledge, skills and attitudes required to become competent in traditional weaving including Yarn and Warp Preparation, and Weaving of the Crosshatches of different types of crosshatches under the hor weaving. Some types of crosshatches under the training are 3 crosshatches (Bi-sumpa),5 crosshatches (Bi-Ngapa), 9 crosshatches (Bi-Gupa). 

 In addition, after the completion of the course, all individuals are required to attend Basic Entrepreneurship Course which will be conducted for 2 weeks.

The applicants shall be notified within 2 working days from the last date of application via phone/email.

Only stipend of Nu. 3500 per month will be provided for the entire duration of the course.
