This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Launch of Rig Tshel Yarphel Venture Club

On 22.10.2022, Rig Tshel Yarphel Venture Club at Shaba Higher Secondary School was officially launched by the Honourable Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources. Rig Tshel Yarphel Venture Club has three units under it which are tailoring unit, salon unit and weaving unit. The club aims to productively engage students through entrepreneurship and skills development. The club has a total of 100 members.
The club members will be providing the services of salon and tailoring to the students and the teachers at affordable prices. The club is planning to open its services to the public next year. The club members are expected to take 50% of the profit generated from the club’s activity.
The club in the long run is intended to promote entrepreneurship and the perception towards self-employment as a sustainable career option.The club is financially supported by the Ministry of Labour and Human resources through the Start-Up and CSI Flagship program and by Nazhoen Lamtoen.
The launch ceremony included the award of certificates to the members of the club and a presentation on the labour market. The students of Shaba Higher Secondary School interacted with the Honourable Secretary and team through a question and answer session.
