This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Two Institute Certificate & Basic Entrepreneurship courses completed successfully 

Institute certificate courses in Computer Hardware and Networking and Wooden Furniture Design and Making were successfully completed on 24 August, 2022. A total of 32 youths (18 in Computer Hardware and Networking and 14 in Wooden Furniture Design and Making) attended the 3 months skilling course and 2 weeks Basic Entrepreneurship Course at the Technical Training Institute, Rangjung, Trashigang. The courses were initiated with the objective of imparting the skills and knowledge to the youths/jobseekers, laid-off employees, oversea returnees and those who are affected by the pandemic. 

 

In addition to the certificate course, the 2 weeks Basic Entrepreneurship Course will help participants to generate business ideas to promote self-employment and  generate more employment opportunities. 

The program also seeks to address the shortage of skilled workforce in different economic sectors by providing relevant and high-quality training aligned to the need of the country. In collaboration with public institutes and training centres, the ministry will continue providing skilling opportunities to youths as per the market demand.
