As a part of Skills Development Program (SDP), the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources on August 15, 2022 launched Basic Internet of Things (IoT) and Basic Metal Art Design and Fabrication training programs at Technical Training Institute, Khuruthang, Punakha. A total of 38 trainees (20 in IoT and 18 in Metal Art) will undergo a three-month-long training programs.
The Basic Internet of Things (IoT) course is designed to provide trainees with the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to be competent in basic Internet of Things (IoT). Upon completion of this short course, the trainee will be able to apply fundamentals of IoT, carry out computer programming and carry out installation and configuration of IoT devices. The trainees are also expected to come up with projects trough application of IoT to address some of the social and real-life issues.
Similarly, the Basic Metal Art Design and Fabrication training aims to enhance each participant’s skills and knowledge on designing and manufacturing of Metal arts to create self-employment and fulfil domestic needs. The participants will also learn to maintain career professionalism and safety in Metal Art Design and Fabrication works such as carrying out metal cutting, shaping, fitting, welding works, casting & forging and fabricate metal products.
The Training programs will be followed by 2 weeks of Basic Entrepreneurship course to impart the knowledge in business management, financial literacy, marketing strategies, business plan development and networking among the relevant organizations for support to startup the business.
