This is to notify all the Employers that any wages paid to an employee shall be made directly to the employee and not through any other person (a) in cash to the employee directly and (b) to the employee’s credit in an account with a Bank within the Kingdom of Bhutan nominated by the employee as per Section 120 of the Labour and Employment Act of Bhutan 2007. Failing to do so shall be liable to pay a penalty as per Section 123 of the Act.
The employers shall be held accountable for non-compliance with the aforementioned sections.
