Department of Labour-This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through MoLHR-MIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoLHR will keep notifying in future.

Institute Certificate course in Farm Machinery Technology successfully completed

A total of 5 youths have successfully completed a three-month-long training in Farm Machinery Technology on 08 July 2022 at Agriculture machinery Training Centre, Paro. The closing ceremony was graced by official from Department of Education, MoLHR, Program Director and official of Agriculture Machinery Centre. This Institute Certificate program is a part of the Skills Development Program (SDP) of the Ministry of Labor and Human Resources.

At the end of the training, the participants are able to operate power tiller, mini power tiller, post-harvest machines, green house technology. They are also equipped and able to repair and maintenance of power tiller, mini tiller, small farm machines, (brush cutter, power chain saw) Post harvest machines, basic welding and fabrication.

Upon completion of the training program, participants will undergo 15 days Basic Entrepreneurship Course to promote creativity and innovation, to provide business ideas and start up business for self-employment and to create employment opportunities.

The SDP is, to mitigate the socio-economic impacts caused by the pandemic and to respond to the challenges posed by pandemic and to enhance the country’s economic resilience in the post-pandemic situation. The SDP program is also envisioned to benefit job seekers, laid-off workers, overseas returnees, and those affected by the current pandemic. More than 108 skilling areas in nine priority sectors are identified for implementation under the SDP in various public institutes and training centres.
