This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Award Ceremony for Bhutan New Venture Challenge 2022

Bhutan New Venture Challenge 2022’s award ceremony was graced by His Excellency, the Minister of Labour and Human Resources. The award ceremony included awards for the following :
A. Student category
First Position: Jahoen Gunhoen, a venture idea by three students of College of Natural Resources to supply fresh vegetables, fruits and dairy products to the students of the College of Natural Resources.
Second Position: Lean C, a venture idea by five students of Sherubtse College to provide automation in control of street lights and other lightings.

Third Position: JNEC Tailoring Express,
Fourth Position: Engineering Bro Consultancy
B. General Category
First Position with Nu. 250,000 cash prize: Galley LED Lighting, a venture idea to manufacture LED lights that are affordable and eco-friendly.
Second Position with Nu. 175,000 cash price: Druk Pigments, a venture idea that intends to use natural ingredients to make quality pigments.
Third Position with Nu. 125, 000: Kintsho Dairy Farm Unit, a venture idea that proposes adoption of green practices in operating a dairy farm.
Fourth: Mugwort Solution
Fifth: Druk Green Oil
Sixth:Drongsep Star Turnip Chips
Seventh: Healing Herbs
Eight: Toeb Hydroponics

His Excellency awarded the prizes and certificates to the participants and in his address encouraged the participants to pursue entrepreneurship with enthusiasm and determination to create opportunities limited not to self but to others. His Excellency also highlighted the need for creative solutions for the problem the nation faces today. His Excellency also took time for a “Question and Answer” session with the participants to better understand them and to clarify doubts on other issues and matters..
