This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Hon’ble Secretary inaugurates Business Incubation Centre at GCBS

The Hon’ble Secretary, Ministry of Labor and Human Resources (MoLHR) graces the inauguration of Business Incubation Centre at Gedu College of Business Studies (GCBS) today. The Centre for Business Research and Entrepreneurship Development (CBRED) was established in 2015 with the mandates to create a vibrant and policy driven relevant research culture, publications, linkages and promoting entrepreneurship. The Centre is also envisioned to become research, training, consulting, and entrepreneurship arm of the colleges. Further, the centre will cater the entrepreneurship support and services to the skilling program participants conducted by MoLHR, alumni and students of the college and to the adjoining communities.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between GCBS and MoLHR in 2019 with an objectives to promote culture of entrepreneurship by providing incubation services to the aspiring entrepreneurs mainly related to business, management, leadership, economics, agriculture, life science, technology, energy, climate, culture and environment. Another objective of the centre is also to enhance livelihood through income and employment generation opportunities.

The centre, particularly, business incubation centre & entrepreneurship development is financially supported by Entrepreneurship Promotion Division (EPD), Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship (DoEE), Ministry of Labor and Human Resources through Startup/CSI Flagship Program and EU funded ENCORE project.
