This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Closing ceremony of the Nature Guide Training under SDP at UWICER, Bumthang

A two month second cohort Nature Guide training at Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment Research (UWICER), Bumthang was concluded today. The training provided as part of the Skills Development Program(SDP) of the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources was attended by 22 participants.  The program is focused on job seekers, laid-off employees, overseas returnees and those affected by the pandemic. The SDP was initiated to mitigate and respond to the socio-economic impacts and challenges posed by the pandemic and to enhance the country’s economic resilience in the post economic situation.

The main objective of the training is to enhance both the knowledge and skills about flora and fauna so that they can provide highly professionalized nature guiding services. The participants learned about carrying out tour planning, nature tour and post nature tour activities as per the national competency standards and curriculum for nature guide. Their competency should be as follows:

  1. Carry out Nature Tour Planning: Obtain relevant documents, obtain equipment’, manage supplies and logistics.
  2. Carryout Nature Tour: Brief the guest on trips, provide nature guiding services, B3 set up camps.
  3. Carryout Post Nature Tour activities: Compile tour reports and documents, handover equipment, and settle the accounts.

The closing ceremony and certificates were awarded by the Advisor, DoFPS, Ministry of Agriculture and Forest, and was joined by the officials from the Department of Technical Education, MoLHR.
