Today we celebrate “Rey Salon” and ” Kuenphen Tailoring”, two venture ideas from Chaskhar Central School, Chaskhar, Mongar Dzongkhag in our #InspireTheNextVenturer series.
1. Rey SalonRey Salon is a venture proposed by five students who saw a problem and set out to solve it. They already had some experience in cutting hairs and wanted to capitalize on their acquired skills. Using the cash prize won from securing the second position in the student category, they set up a salon that has all the equipment and accessories to provide quality services. They are looking forward to catering to the local residents and people from nearby communities. The net proceeds from the venture is for the students to take. The students are monitored by a focal teacher and the management of the school to ensure that the services are provided smoothly without any hindrance to their academic obligations.
2. Kuenphen Tailoring
Kuenphen tailoring sets out to be a venture that provides quality tailoring services. The venture is guided by a focal teacher who has experience and skill in tailoring. Under the mentorship of the teacher, they provide tailoring services at affordable prices. Kuenphen Tailoring secured the first position in BNVC 2020, student category and won Nu. 100,000 as cash prize which they used to establish their venture. The venture has been profitable and in the year 2021, they have generated close to Nu. 10,000.0 in sales within months of the launch. The services of the venture have benefited both the students and the local communities.The students are monitored by a focal teacher and the management of the school to ensure that the services are provided smoothly without any hindrance to their academic obligations.
Both ventures set out to solve the issues in their community and today, they are providing services that the students of Chaskhar Central School and the local communities require. They are a shining example of how entrepreneurship can create a better community. The ventures were officially launched on 11/11/2021 coinciding with the Birth anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo by the Director General of Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship along with the officials from Entrepreneurship promotion Division.
