The Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship invites aspiring entrepreneurs and students to participate in Bhutan New Venture Challenge, 2022. Bhutan New Venture Challenge is a business idea competition designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs materialize their business ideas into reality and help students experience entrepreneurship.
Bhutan New Venture Challenge 2022 has two categories:
- STUDENT CATEGORY
The student category is for students to showcase business ideas that can be operated within their institute. Students from Higher Secondary Schools, Middle Secondary Schools, TVET Institutes and colleges are encouraged to apply.
The theme for the student category is “Business for a better community”.
a. Eligibility
The eligibility criterion for the student category are as follows:
- Must be a business idea that is to be established and operated immediately
- Must be a student or a group of students representing the institute or studying in the school at the time of application
- Cannot be students who have won BNVC 2020
b. Cash Prize
Bhutan New Venture Challenge 2022 has set Nu. 100,000 for the Top 4 business ideas for the student category.

If you do not use this template then your entry will be screened out.

2. GENERAL CATEGORY
The general category is an open category for aspiring entrepreneurs to showcase their business ideas that they are going to set-up. This year, BNVC is adopting the theme:
“Business for a Greener Tomorrow”
Therefore, aspiring entrepreneurs are encouraged to align their business ideas with the above theme.
a. Eligibility
The eligibility criterion for the general category are as follows:

- Must be a citizen of Bhutan
- Should not be an expansion business idea (A business idea to build on an already operational business)
- Should have the willingness to establish a business entity
- Should not be the winners of BNVC 2020
- Should not be an employed individual
b. Cash Prize
Bhutan New Venture Challenge 2022 has set the following cash prizes for the general category:
