This is to notify and inform the general public that the SHORT-TERM WORK PERMIT (E-Work Permit) is now being initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment. The employers wishing to import foreign workers even for the duration less than 30 days should now compulsorily apply online through BLMIS with immediate effect. Besides the normal required documents, the individual/FWRA/employers should submit the medical clearance certificate of the foreigners obtained from the country of origin.This notification is referred to the approval of the night halt work permits only and for other categories and updates, MoICE will keep notifying in future.

Village Skills Development Program (VSDP) of BBP to engage rural youth in community development process of construction sector

Department of Technical Education (DTE) with Jigme Wangchuck Power Training Institute (JWPTI) implemented the second batch of Village Skills Development Program (VSDP) under Build Bhutan Project (BBP) at three training sites in gewogs under Zhemgang dzongkhag on March 17, 2022 . The opening ceremony was attended by local government officials, BBP coordinator and trainers from JWPTI.

A total 75 youth from lower Zhemgang will undergo the skills training with effect from March 18, 2022 for a duration of one to two months in construction trades. Such skilling program under VSDP is designed to create opportunities for self-employment to engage productively during off farm season and enable avenue for startup of rural based business to participate in the rural economic development projects in their locality.
